It happened in the eastbound lanes on I-76 near the 30th Street Station, Trooper Shyeasha Ayala wrote in a release. State police were called about a car accident just after 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2.
At the scene, the driver of a crashed vehicle said he was fleeing gunfire from a red Ford Mustang when he lost control of his car. Troopers searched the highway and recovered several shell casings from the road, according to the release.
Authorities reported no injuries from the shooting or the accident.
